Elizabeth Jane Bova
Elizabeth Jane “Bubba” Bova, 81, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center, Chartiers Township.
Born December 15, 1936, she was a daughter of Joseph Sr. and Mary Petrick Barkey.
A 1954 graduate of Monongahela High School, Betty was a member of the former St. Anthony Church, St. Damien of Molokai Parish, in Monongahela.
She retired with more than 20 years as a custodian for Ringgold School District.
She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and, most of all, taking care of her family.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Jane D’Amico of Dunkirk and Peter J. and Renee D’Amico of Bethel Park; three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and George Cheplic of Monongahela, Valerie A. and William Kalokewich of Charleroi and Lisa M. and Richard Sikon of Fox Chapel; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Nicole) and Vincent (Stacee) Piscitelli, Ben (Michelle), Andrew (Bethany), Elizabeth and Sarah D’Amico, Dylan Kalakewich, Dana and Gina D’Amico and Kelsey Sikon; three great-grandchildren, Luca, Emma and Dominic; brother Charles Barkey and wife Patti of Pleasant Hills; and sister Mary Ann Barkey of Monongahela.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Nick D’Amico, who died March 6, 2012; her second husband, William Bova, who died October 13, 2009; nine brothers, James R., Joseph Jr., Steve, Edward, John, Clarence, Vincent R. and George Barkey and infant Vincent Barkey; and five sisters, Helen Durieux, Stella Hillman, Irene Wilcosky, Marie Fedak and Dorothy Wilcosky.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, where services will held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, with her nephew, Father Patrick Barkey, officiating. Interment will be held in Mon-Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
