James Alvin Stollar Sr.
James Alvin Stollar Sr., 87, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
He was born December 22, 1930, in Washington, a son of the late James Guy Stollar and Florence Miller Stollar.
James was a graduate of Trinity High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. While serving in the Marine Corps in Korea, James received the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal and U.N. Service Medal.
He worked at Jessop Steel for 38 years as a crane operator/roll turner.
James was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles, watching Westerns on television and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved spending time with family.
On July 16, 1955, he married Wanda Lee Glover, who died November 6, 2005.
Surviving are a son, James A. (Darylanne) Stollar Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Darla J. (Wesley) Evans of Washington and Pamela S. Pierce of Washington; seven grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Megan, Tim, Taryn, Erika and Loren; 11 great-grandchildren, Kalin, Serena, Juliana, Madison, Alexis, Colin, Olivia, Lily, Jason, Ella and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are granddaughter Kira; great-granddaughter Brenna; and brother Donald William Stollar.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
