Melvin L. Kraft
Melvin L. Kraft, 76, of Crown Point, Ind., formerly of Greensboro, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018.
A graduate of Mapletown High School, Melvin served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He retired from U.S. Steel after 37 years.
Melvin loved all Pittsburgh sports. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward G. and Goldie V. Kraft.
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Rhonda; children Keith (Lori) Kraft, Jeffrey Kraft and Amy (Chad) Collins; grandchildren Jacob, Taylor, Nathan, Emily, Brandon and Katie; brothers John, Paul (Carol), Larry (Laura) and Mike (Kathy) Kraft; numerous nieces and nephews; and many family friends who loved him as their own.
A celebration of his life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, in Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point. There will be no formal services. Cremation will precede the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
