John Mlatnik

John Mlatnik, 64, of Claysville, died Monday, October 1, 2018, in his home.

He was born September 21, 1954, in Washington, a son of the late John and Pauline Brager Mlatnik.

Mr. Mlatnik was a Christian by faith.

He was a 1972 graduate of Avella High School.

Mr. Mlatnik worked as a machinist for 43 years.

He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing and was a huge John Wayne fan. However, his two greatest joys in life were making people laugh with his quirky sense of humor and spending time with his family.

On June 28, 2003, in Houston, Texas, he married Crystal Goslin, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Timothy (Lisa) Mlatnik of Carnegie and James Lindley of Claysville; four daughters, Jennifer Mlatnik of Washington, Amy Mlatnik of Washington, Marcie (Robert) Campbell of Avella and Lakisha (Michael) Bariteau of Conroe, Texas; a twin brother, Tom Mlatnik of Avella; two sisters, Barbara (Jerry) Smith of Jonesboro, La., and Paula (Glen) Leif of Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren, James, Justin and Corey Mlatnik, Elizabeth, Robert and Payton Campbell, Nathan Lindley and Corbyn and Leland Bariteau; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6. All other services are private. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to American Heart Association, www.donate.heart.org.
