Paul J. Galati, 80, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 5, 2018, in his home.

He was born August 18, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Vito and Frances Ruffa Galati.

On September 2, 1961, he married Judith Ann Wiseman, who passed away May 5, 2017.

Mr. Galati was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Navy.

He belonged to St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, McMurray.

Paul was the owner of the Galati Nursery and Landscaping company for many years. He belonged to Elks Club 2213, Bethel Park, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 764, McMurray, and American Legion Post 902, Houston.

He is survived by his son, Victor J. Galati (Julie S.) of North Strabane Township; six grandchildren, Jessica, Jenna, Jade, Valerie, Justin and Jordan Galati; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul S. Galati, and a daughter, Christine A. Galati-Doyle.

Friends are welcome from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Township, where full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign War Post 191, Canonsburg, and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
