Eileen Lenora Sullenbarger
Eileen Lenora Sullenbarger, 81, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in Rolling Meadows, Waynesburg.
She was born April 9, 1937, in Chartiers Hill, Clarksville, a daughter of the late Arthur and Lottie Miller Rankin.
A homemaker, she attended Jefferson Morgan High School.
She was a member of Coal Clackin’ Clowns, a clown club. Her clown name was Choo Choo Clown, and she entertained many children at church functions, birthdays and many other events.
She loved her grandchildren dearly and had a part in each of their lives. Eileen and her husband served as surrogate parents to many area children in need of stability and role models in their lives. Eileen enjoyed singing in church. Sewing was another interest in her life.
On November 10, 1958, she married Schuyler Raymond Sullenbarger, who survives.
Also surviving are daughter Lenora Stanko (Steve) of Clarksville; two sons, Lydell Sullenbarger (Stephanie) of Petersburg, Ky., and Arthur Sullenbarger (Brenda) of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Megan Collins (Justin), Micah Stanko (Kelby), Paige Stanko, Laura Stork (John), Elizabeth Sullenbarger, Danielle Ritenour (Jonathan), Tia Moore (Noah) and Erin and Erik Sullenbarger; and a great-granddaughter, McKenna Collins.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, Arthur and Gerald Rankin, and five sisters, Anna Mae Vargo, Daunice Robinson, Ruth Snyder, Evelyn Chalovich and Margaret George. Eileen was the last of her immediate family.
A public memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, October 8, in First Assembly of God Church, 4131 West Roy Furman Highway, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor James Galbraith officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Assembly of God Church.
