Janet Evelyn Spence
Janet Evelyn Spence, 88, of Washington, died Friday, October 5, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
She was born April 20, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of the late Ivan Mankey Sr. and Metta Gooden Mankey.
Mrs. Spence attended Washington High School and worked as a glass packer for Brockway Glass.
On December 11, 1947, she married Charles Lee Spence, who died October 24, 2008.
Surviving are four sons, Richard Mark Spence, Frederick Wayne (Nancy) Spence, Daniel Rea (Treva) Spence and David Lee (Kathy) Spence; daughter Sandra Lee (Frank) Sprock; brother Ivan Mankey Jr.; sister Beverly Bails; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, with Pastor Ron Ringer officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
