Leonard Rose Jr.
Leonard Rose Jr., 63, of Brownsville, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, in Washington Hospital.
He was born November 18, 1954, in Washington, a son of the late Leonard and Edith Moss Rose Sr.
Mr. Rose was a career U.S. Army veteran, serving for 20 years. For his service, he received the Army Service Ribbon/Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal/Noncommission Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star and Army Reserves Commendation Medal. After his military retirement, he was employed as a truck driver for Federated Mattress, Canonsburg.
He enjoyed working on cars and especially working on his John Deere tractor, decorating for Christmas and playing solitaire with his badly worn deck of cards.
Surviving are three children, Tracie Witkowski (Charles) of Monongahela, Michael Rose (Kimberly) of Marianna and Timmy Rose (Heather) of Charleroi; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson (Sierra), Chelsea Anderson, Travis Rose, Cody Rose, Nicole Rose and Michael Rose Jr.; three stepgrandchildren, Jessica Ewing, Christian Gerlachovsky and Sebastian Walker; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, Leonard Rose III; two brothers, Donald Rose and Tracy Rose; and two sisters, Edith Mae Salamone and Mona O’Neil.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 12, with the Rev. William Henry officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, with military rites accorded graveside by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1810.
