Margaret Carter Mounts

Margaret “Peg” Carter Mounts, 72, of Sparta, Tenn., formerly of West Mifflin, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, in Life Care Center of Sparta.

She was born December 12, 1945, in Sparta, to the late Nathan M. Carter and Geneva Crowder Carter.

She spent most of her adult life in the Pittsburgh area, teaching in several schools in Allegheny County for 33 years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, the Rev. Bruce Mounts.

She is survived by her aunts, Mary Crowder England of Sparta, Lou Hutson Crowder of Crossville, Tenn., and Marie Moore Crowder of Detroit, Mich. Margaret will be fondly remembered by a host of cousins and many dear friends. She is survived locally by her cousin, Mary (Bob) Wichterman of Washington.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of a memorial service, Saturday, October 13, in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, Sparta, Tenn. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Amity Presbyterian Church, 400 Euclid Avenue, Dravosburg, PA 15034, where she and her husband served for more than 40 years.
