Jeffrey P. Burt
Jeffrey P. Burt, 66, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, with family by his side.
He was born December 17, 1951, in Washington, a son of Jack and Dorothy Bergner Burt.
Mr. Burt attended McGuffey schools and Taylorstown Presbyterian Church.
He was a school bus driver for Laidlaw Transit and then GG&C Bus Co., where he also spent time as a dispatcher. In 27 years, he never missed driving for McGuffey and then Washington school districts.
Mr. Burt enjoyed The Meadows Casino. He loved baking and cooking and had a green thumb for flowers.
Surviving are a daughter, Erin Piatt (Matthew) of Washington; a son, Christopher R. Burt (Morgan) of Canonsburg; two grandchildren, Gauge and Mallory Piatt; two brothers, Dennis R. Burt (Sharon) of Taylorstown and Mark D. Burt (fiancée Kelly Fine) of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15. Interment will be private.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home in Jeffrey’s name.
