Edward Janco
Edward Janco, 73, of Rices Landing, died Friday, October 12, 2018, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born in Rices Landing, a son of the late Ignac Anna Rose Squarik Janco.
Ed was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 36 ½ years.
Ed was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and Beagle Club of Jefferson. He enjoyed wrestling, football, coaching, the outdoors, hunting, being the caretaker of a farm and polka music.
Surviving are his soulmate of 19 years, Doreen Hawk Plavi; children Mary Annette Roberts of Carmichaels, Janet Marie Schamp of North Carolina, Edward J. Janco of South Carolina, Samantha J. Janco of Georgia, Stacy (Pete) Stoneking of Jefferson and Chuck Plavi of Carmichaels; grandchildren Aliza and Carlee Roberts, James and Christina Schamp, Preston and Kennedy Janco, Kirsten and Devin Stoneking and Grace and Payton Plavi; and siblings Rose Janco Oxner of Louisiana, John Janco of Canonsburg and Cecelia Janco Okonski of Illinois.
Deceased are siblings Anthony Janco, Joseph Janco, Mary Nelson, Josephine Tibbets, Vern Cevec and Marge Superack.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a blessing services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, with Father Al McGinnis officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
