Joseph John Sopcak
Joseph John Sopcak, 80, of Washington, died Monday, October 15, 2018, in The Grove at Washington.
He was born November 30, 1937, in Tarentum, a son of the late Joseph Sopcak and Pauline Slanik Sopcak.
Joseph graduated from Tarentum High School and received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from California University of Pennsylvania.
He worked at Cooper Industries for 26 years as an engineer.
Joseph was Roman Catholic.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He also played semi-pro football in Kentucky.
On September 13, 1997, he married Judith Kestner, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Joseph A. (Charmaine) Sopcak of Charleroi, Michael C. (Diana) Liston of Baden and Matthew C. (Shawna) Liston of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Amy M. Liston of Bethel Park; a brother, David (Geraldine) Sopcak of Tarentum; three grandchildren, Alexis Sopcak, Aidan Liston and Grayson Liston; niece Sharrie; and nephew Kirk.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private. Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
