Elizabeth V. Piccolo

Elizabeth V. Piccolo, 86, of New Eagle, died Thursday, October 18, 2018, in ManorCare Health Services, Pittsburgh.

She was born November 24, 1931, in Floreffe, a daughter of the late George and Vernita Burket Booth.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Monongahela High School.

In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader in New Eagle. She was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish (formerly St. Anthony), Monongahela, and Democratic Women’s Club, where she was past treasurer. She was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary of Monongahela Valley Hospital.

From 1977 to 1992, Betty was employed at Zimmer Printing in Monongahela.

Surviving are two sons, John G. and wife Carol Piccolo of Nazareth and Mark D. and wife Louann Piccolo of Lake Wylie, S.C.; a daughter, Becky L. and husband Mark Doerfler of Carnegie; five grandchildren, Jenny Corsey, Jolene Bosche, Jackie Walker, David Doerfler and John L. Piccolo; six great-grandchildren, Savannah Piccolo, Madison Walker, Kate Corsey, Luke Bosche and twins Anna and Bradley Doerfler; and a sister, Colleen “Cookie” Cousert of Tarentum.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, John L. Piccolo, who died July 19, 2001, and a sister, Delores Pesognelli.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 22, in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Monongahela. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
