John Samuel Summers
John Samuel Summers, 83, of McMurray, formerly of Oakdale, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in North Strabane Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, Canonsburg.
He was born October 7, 1935, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Karl and Anna Paskevich Summers.
Mr. Summers was a retired barber/beautician and was owner of Pink Poodle Beauty Salon.
He served in the U.S. Army as a medic in Japan and enjoyed golfing, woodworking and video games.
Surviving are his sister, Rosemary (Frank) O’Korn of McMurray; brother Michael Summers of New York; nephews Brian (Becky) O’Korn, Christopher “Buck” (Amy) O’Korn and Joseph (Renee) Cranmer; and great-nieces and great-nephews Amigail Rose O’Korn, Grace Milan O’Korn, Luke Robert Frank O’Korn and Joseph Cranmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Fredrickson Summers, and brothers and sisters Betty Summers, Robert Summers, Helen Stutsman, Mary Ann Cranmer, Martha Dean, Francis Summers and Karl Summers Jr.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
