Elizabeth Boyko Brownlee
Elizabeth “Libby” Boyko Brownlee, 94, of Washington, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 21, 2018, following a brief illness.
Her faith and devotion to her church and family brought her happiness throughout her life.
She was born April 2, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of Paul and Mary Dziechciasz Boyko.
“Libby,” as she was affectionately known by her many friends, was a lifelong member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington, where she was an active member of Christian Mothers and volunteered for various church functions.
On February 6, 1949, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, she married Jack E. Brownlee, who preceded her in death January 27, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Joseph (Patti) Brownlee, and a daughter, Susan Jennings, both of Washington; her grandchildren, Lori (Joe) Miles, Melissa (Mike) Mazurkiewicz, Christina (Jeff) Cavrak and Rebecca and Nicholas Jennings; her great-grandchildren, Madison Meissonier, Colton Cavrak, Jack and Elise Miles and Mason, Maddox and Maverick Mazurkiewicz; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Rich) McCann and Betty Brownlee.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Amelia Wymer and Helen Bradford, and four brothers, Paul, Joseph, John and Stanley Boyko.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, where departing prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 26. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
