Albert H. Deter Sr.
Albert H. “Pete” Deter Sr., 59, of Waynesburg, passed in his sleep at 9:50 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2018, in the home of his son.
He was born Thursday, June 18, 1959, in Waynesburg, a son of Albert Deter and the late Suzanne Watters Deter.
A lifelong resident of Greene County, Mr. Deter was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and also belonged to American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He worked as an ironworker for A.C. Dellovade, until his retirement in April of this year.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
His wife, Marlene Ruth Cox Deter, whom he married Friday, June 5, 1981, died May 8, 2015.
Surviving are three daughters, Candy (Josh) Gifford of Waynesburg, Christy McCarty and fiancé Jason Fields of Waynesburg and Heather (August) Caleffe of Avella; two sons, Tom (Susan) Connell and Petey (Amy) Deter Jr., all of Mt. Morris; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tammie (John) Peters of Morgantown, W.Va., and Sarah (Roger) Lawrence of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, with the Rev. Nick Bardo officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
