Charlotte Smillie Cerullo

Charlotte “Teddi” Smillie Cerullo, 76, of Masontown, died peacefully Friday, October 26, 2018.

She was born Friday, August 7, 1942, a daughter of the late Alice Frost Smillie and Samuel Smillie of Carmichaels. Her stepfather, Albert “Red” Beringo, adored her and her family.

On September 19, 1964, she married the love of her life, Arthur Cerullo Sr., with whom she shared a long and happy marriage.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, and proudly served as past president of Christian Mothers.

“Teddi” enjoyed baking with her granddaughters for holidays and family gatherings. She adored spending time with her great-grandsons during their sleepovers. She spent countless hours decorating for holidays and loved her dogs, Charlie and Chubby, her cats, Snowball and Boots, and was very fond of the “bird.”

She worked at Shop ‘n Save in Masontown for many years in the bakery/deli departments, and she was lovingly known to many as the “Hoagie Lady” or “Princess Cake Queen.” She spent many hours volunteering at All Saints grade school in the cafeteria. She was everyone’s “Grandma Teddi.”

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Coffman, and son-in-law Kenneth P. Riggin.

Cherished memories of a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin will be embraced by her husband, Arthur Cerullo Sr.; son Arthur Cerullo Jr. and wife Mary; daughter Faith Cerullo Riggin and fiancé Tod L’Hommedieu; granddaughters Christina Cerullo Williams, Amber N. Riggin and Hayley J. Riggin; great-grandsons Aidon and Cason; her “brother and sisters”; the Mojock families; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until 9:30 a.m., the time of prayers of transfer, Wednesday, October 31, in Terravecchia Home for Funerals Inc., 515 North Main Street, Masontown. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown. The parish rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
