Lisa Dawn Carathers Stanek
Dearly loved wife, daughter and sister, Lisa Dawn Carathers Stanek, 55, of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully in Mon Valley Hospital, Friday, August 31, 2018, with her devoted husband of 30 years by her side. She had bravely confronted and fought cancer.
Born September 22, 1962, in New Eagle, Lisa resided in the Bentleyville area most of her life. She graduated from Bentworth High School in 1980.
Lisa loved animals and had a passion for hockey and football. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music and movies. She will be greatly missed for her silly sense of humor and ability to talk anyone’s ear off.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Stanek of Ellsworth; sister Christy Carathers Carmody and husband Chris of Las Vegas, Nev.; aunt Naomi Babbitt of Libertyville, Ill.; and cousins David Babbitt of Chicago, Ill., and Kathy Hogue of Morrison, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Booth and Richard “Dick” Carathers; uncle John “Jack” Booth; aunt Anita “Needie” Booth; and grandparents Katherine Milby and John Booth.
The family will receive friends at Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St., Bentleyville from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday September 4.
