Shelby Marie Barnhart
Shelby Marie Barnhart, 13, of New Freeport, died Sunday, September 2, 2018, in her residence, following a very long battle with cancer.
She was born January 10, 2005, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of James M. Barnhart of New Freeport and Angela Rutan of Pittsburgh.
Shelby was a seventh grade student at West Greene Middle School. She attended Aleppo Brethern Church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepmother, Krislynn Barnhart; two half sisters, Page White and Breanna Tenorio, both of Pittsburgh; paternal grandmother Debara McClure of New Freeport; paternal step-grandfather William Paul McClure of New Freeport; maternal grandmother Susan Hardesty of Morgantown; paternal stepgrandmother Paula Webster of Wind Ridge; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Bill “Shotgun” Rutan; paternal grandfather James Leo Barnhart; and her paternal stepgrandfather, Richard Deems.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, W.Va., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 6, with Pastor Lanny Hewitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Thomas Cemetery, Ned.
