Mark W. Wasik
Mark W. “Chops” Wasik, 65, of Joffre, passed away Tuesday morning, September 4, 2018.
He was born April 15, 1953, a son of the late Marion Wasik and Mae Wasik Lauro.
A 1971 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, he also earned an associate’s degree in welding from Allegheny County Community College and retired in 2008 from Joy Mining in Houston, where he was a welder.
He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Bulger and many social and fraternal organizations, including the Owls Club in Joffre and Atlasburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna “Bo” Rodgers Wasik, whom he married August 3, 1996; four sisters, Suzanne Markley and husband Steve of Charlotte, N.C., Betsy Wasik of Joffre, Helene Salvadori and husband John of Burgettstown and Francine Lauro and companion Bill Diamond of McDonald; sister-in-law Christine Wasik of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his two fur babies, Pickles and Lucky.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his brother, Les Wasik.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, in St. Ann Catholic Church, Bulger, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski, pastor, as celebrant.
Inurnment will be held privately at a later date in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.
