Ann Alice Kibelbek, 86, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, after enduring health complications.

She was born July 12, 1932, and was the last living of 13 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Kibelbek of Fort Myers, Fla., and her son, Joseph Kibelbek Jr. (Missi) of Baltimore, Md.

She graduated from Pittsburgh School of Nursing as a registered nurse and, after several years of practice, she joined the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, where she served for 13 years and attained the rank of lieutenant commander.

She met her husband, Joe, in Washington state, and after a short but adventurous courtship, they were married December 26, 1967. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2017.

Ann and Joe moved to Fort Myers from Severna Park, Md., in January 2005. She was very active in Severna Park church and community matters, but was hindered in Florida by her stroke, which occurred in October 2006, affecting her health and mobility immensely. She was cared for at home in Fort Myers by her loving husband, Joe, for 11 years and 11 months, using the time to prepare a caregiver’s manual to help others.

She had a countenance and friendly way so the people she met loved her and her smiling face. She was absolutely a good woman.

Friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 10.
