William J. Sharp
William J. “Bill” Sharp, 79, died peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2018, in his home in Long Beach, Calif., after gracefully and valiantly fighting a lifelong illness. At his side when he passed were his wife of 43 years, Claire; his faithful doggy companion, Little Lulu; and dear friend Dawna Letchworth.
Bill was born February 11, 1939, in Washington, a son of Ethel Purvis Sharp and Harold Curtis Sharp.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and Washington & Jefferson College in 1960. He received a bachelor of divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1964, and a master’s degree in library science from University of Pittsburgh.
Bill is survived by his wife; son Cameron Sharp; daughter-in-law Ajira Darch; sister Nancy Sharp Tucker; grandchildren Chésaweh and Bahari; nieces Marilyn Owsley, Tracy Mogster and Christy Tarapore; great-nieces Marissa Brown, Jessica Tarapore and Samantha Tarapore; and great-great-nephew Morgan Calder Brown.
