Thomas N. Clark, 65, of Scenery Hill, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

He was born April 4, 1953, in McKeesport, a son of the late Philip F. Jr. and Ruth Faye Cochrane Clark.

Mr. Clark was a 1971 graduate of Beth-Center High School.

He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1975 during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.

He was an active member of Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post 705, Centerville, where he was serving as the post’s sergeant at arms and was an active member of the honor guard. He also was in charge of making pancakes for the Legion’s All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast fundraiser.

His employment encompassed many trades. He retired in 2016 from Integrated Power, Washington, where he worked as a truck driver. He also worked as a welder and underground coal miner. He was known for being very innovative and was honored as a Gold Star Mechanic and was a member of United Steel Workers of America Local 3403.

Tom operated his family farm from 1983 to the time of his death, when he was in the process of installing a wood mill on the farm.

Mr. Clark always credited his ambition and work ethic to what he learned through Boy Scouts of America and his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout.

His hobbies included hunting, woodworking, making rifles and reloading ammunition. But above all, he was dedicated to and loved his family.

On June 10, 1972, he married Nancianne Silvers, who survives. They celebrated 46 years of marriage.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Suzy Lacey (Tom) of Malden and Joshua Clark (Nickie) of Scenery Hill; four grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Lacey and Aidan and Tate Clark; two sisters, Linda Miller of Bentleyville and Marcia Jean Stowinsky (John) of Scenery Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
