Bessie Louise Tedrow
Bessie Louise Tedrow, 88, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2018, in her home, with her granddaughter and caregiver, Donna, and great-grandson Damian Davis at her side.
She was born September 30, 1929, in Center Township, a daughter of the late Harrison Sr. and Mildred Cross Tedrow.
Bessie was a resident of Greene County all her life. She was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, where she was Sunday school secretary and a former Sunday school teacher for 40 years.
Bessie was employed for most of her life in the Oak Forest area as long as her health permitted, until 1960.
She enjoyed crafting plastic canvas, crocheting, doing puzzles, gardening and was an avid reader of the Bible. Bessie dedicated her life to God and her family.
Bessie is survived by a son, Kenneth (Joann) Tedrow Sr. of the state of Indiana; four grandchildren, Donna Crawford Eddy of Waynesburg, Sandra Crawford of Marianna, Kenneth Tedrow Jr. of Greene County and John Tedrow of North Carolina; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Basinger of Ruff Creek; and a brother, Harrison Tedrow Jr. of Bluff.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Karen Crawford, who passed away May 21, 2018; sister Marjorie Reagan; and brother Charles Tedrow.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, Friday, September 21, in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, with Pastor Scott A. Blair III officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jackson Township.
