James J. Belice Jr.
James J. Belice Jr., 72, of Malden, passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
He was born April 18, 1946, in Latrobe, to James J. and Frances Ukish Belice of Saltsburg.
He was a 1964 graduate of Saltsburg High School, received his master’s degree through Penn State University and retired after 35 years of teaching from Southmoreland School District.
Jim was a representative for Tenpoint Crossbows. He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with family, being with his buddies, staying at camp and fishing with his grandson, James, and granddaughter Hannah.
He worshiped at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville, and was a member of many local clubs. He was also a member of Turkeyfoot Fish and Game Sportmans in Confluence.
On August 24, 1968, he married Linda Paci Belice, who survives.
Also surviving are his sister, Florence Marafka (Tom) of Nowrytown; and three children, Andrew Belice (Tammy) of Dillion, Mont., Shawn Belice (Bethany) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Tiffany Belice of Clearwater, Fla. He was a proud grandfather of grandsons James and Liam and granddaughters Lexie, Brianna, Hannah, Madison and Halle.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Belice.
Friends will be received from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where prayers will be said at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 300 Shaffner Avenue, Brownsville, PA 15417.
