Lillian C. Senich
Lillian C. Senich, 93, of Pittsburgh, died Thursday, September 27, 2018, in Paramount Senior Living, Peters Township, after a seven-week stay.
Her first job after graduating from South High School, Pittsburgh, was assembling side arms and components of the Azon bomb, generally regarded as the first “smart bomb,” at Union Switch & Signal, Swissvale.
She was a devout, founding member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she labored tirelessly as long as her stamina permitted. She also volunteered in the kitchen of Meals on Wheels, Brentwood. A superb cook and baker, she also excelled as a seamstress, gardener and jack of all trades. Lillian was an avid reader.
Surviving are a son, George; a daughter, Barbara; and two granddaughters, Merrill and Christine.
Deceased are her brother, William, and her husband, George, whom she married June 3, 1950.
Arrangements are by Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, where service will be held at a time to be determined Saturday, October 6.
