Kathern C. Burns
Kathern C. Burns, 98, of East Finley Township, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2019, in Standish Assisted Living, Washington, of age-related illnesses.
She was born December 1, 1920, in Independence, a daughter of the late Alvin Murray and Jane Mary Adams Craig, and she had resided in East Finley Township most of her life.
Kathern was a member of the Enon Baptist Church and attended Avella High School.
She was a former employee of the former Brownlee and Maze Nursing Homes, the former Hazel Atlas Glass Plant in Washington and was last employed as a custodian at the Moon Township Elementary School.
On October 26, 1963, she married Lloyd Eugene Burns, who died May 28, 1987.
Kathern is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a sister, Faye Craig Kress, and her twin brother, John Alexander “Alex” Craig.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral and committal services at 1 p.m. Friday, August 16, in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181, with the Rev. August Hurst officiating. Private interment will be held in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township.
