Margretta M. Clark
Margretta M. Clark, 92, of Waynesburg, went to be with her Lord Friday, November 29, 2019, in Washington Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1927, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dessie Jeffries.
Margretta was a graduate of Waynesburg High School and Uniontown School of Nursing.
She worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital for many years as a registered nurse. She later transferred to the hospital pharmacy, where she worked until her retirement. She later graduated from Penn Commercial, where she trained as a hair stylist.
She was married to Frederick L. Clark, who passed away June 7, 2003.
Margretta was a devoted Christian and loved her Lord. She was an active member of Rolling Meadows Church of God in Waynesburg, where she had served as church clerk and president of the ladies group. She also served as a Sunday school teacher.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, and for her strong faith in God. She spent many hours reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Abbott of Waynesburg, who was Margretta’s caregiver for the past six years; a sister, Evelyn Fagg of North Carolina; three brothers, Harold Jeffries of Waynesburg, Paul (Zelda) Jeffries of Jefferson and Ralph (Diane) Jeffries of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Allen, Harlon and David Jeffries, and a sister, E. Jean Jeffries.
A memorial service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, December 8, in Rolling Meadows Church of God, 595 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, with Pastor Richard Berkey officiating. Private inurnment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
