Richard W. DeMarco
Richard W. DeMarco, 72, of Canonsburg, died Friday, December 13, 2019.
He was born September 22, 1947, in Canonsburg, a son of Joseph and Rose Pacific DeMarco.
Mr. DeMarco proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Mayview State Hospital for 35 years.
He was also an ordained minister and received his bachelor’s degree in theology from Christian Bible College.
Mr. DeMarco was very well known in the tri-state area as an accomplished guitar player, member of Children of the King gospel band, and a rhythm guitarist for Nadine and the Dusty Rose Band. In more recent years, he joined the praise band at the Berean Fellowship Church, and was an active and faithful member.
Rick was a very kind, humble, and talented man and had a unique way of making people laugh. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his son, Richard J. (Tracy) DeMarco of Sykesville, Md.; daughters, Bobbi Jo (Rob) McMillin of Canonsburg, Billie Jo (Mohammad) Tabatabai of Washington; brothers, Armando “Sonny” (MaryAnn) DeMarco of Canonsburg and August “Auggie” (Debra) DeMarco of Houston; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Chloe, Cassidy, Connor, Abbigail, Audrey, Hannah and Leila; stepchildren, Brian (Lesley) Levkulich, Tracy (Steven) Davies; stepgrandchildren, Briann and Stevie; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana DeMarco, who died January 15, 2017.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Moder officiating.
Burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private.
