Lena Nackoul, 102, of Canonsburg, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, in Canonsburg Hospital, with her daughters by her side.

She was born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late Alberico and Matia Bruno Leonardi.

Mrs. Nackoul was raised in Muse and lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and Guild.

She was a graduate of Cecil High School and had been employed at ALCOA during World War II. Lena had been a secretary for Tomsic Motor Company, a notary public and a secretary with Canon-McMillan School District for 19 years. She enjoyed reading, flowers and crocheting, and most of all loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her daughter’s dog, Ollie.

On June 3, 1950, she married Albert Nackoul, who passed away January 17, 2008, after 58 years of marriage.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her two beloved daughters, Linda Knight and husband Robert of Houston and Marta Odoski (Greg Huston) of Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Phillip (Nicole) Knight, Clayton Knight and Kristy Knight; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lena was the last of her immediate family. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are three sisters, Rose Cardinale, Clara Rozanc and Mary Iannarelli, and her brother, Harry Leonardi.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 20. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery, Bridgeville. The Christian Mothers and Guild of St. Patrick Church will recite the rosary at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
