Donald E. Fitzwater
Donald E. Fitzwater, 83, of Deemston, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Bridgeport Healthcare, Bridgeport, W.Va.
He was born May 3, 1935, to the late Porter and Jenny George Fitzwater.
Don attended Ulery School in Marianna. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Suwak Trucking in Washington for many years. He later owned and operated Fitzwater’s Dairy Farm in Deemston for over 40 years.
He was a member of the Marianna United Methodist Church in Zollarsville and the East Beth Baptist Church in Deemston. He was active on the Deemston Boro Council for several years and the Washington County Farmers Association. He enjoyed going fishing to his camp in Canada.
Don and his wife, Joan Ross Fitzwater, whom he married on October 27, 1956, had celebrated almost 60 years of marriage before her death on October 15, 2016.
Surviving are his two sons, Terry (Brenda) Fitzwater of Union, W.Va. and Larry (Heather) Fitzwater of Wallace, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Isaiah Fitzwater and Isaac Fitzwater of Kansas City, Kan.; and one brother, Gene (Donna) Fitzwater of Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a brother, Kenneth Fitzwater.
Family and friends will be received from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, February 3, and from noon until 1:30 p.m., the time of the funeral service, Monday, February 4, in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street Marianna, Pa.
