Maxine “Dolly” Lucciola, 87, of Canonsburg passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness.

She was born on September 21, 1931 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Kusz Gudac. Dolly lived most of her life in the Canonsburg area where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and was an avid Christian Mother.

Prior to her retirement, Dolly had been employed as a supervisor of housekeeping at Mayview State Hospital. Earlier, she had been employed at the former Continental Can Factory.

On June 25, 1949, she married John F. Lucciola, Sr., who passed away on January 8, 2019 after 69 years of marriage.

Dolly was an avid baker and also loved to cook for all of her family. Dolly also loved to camp at Four Seasons Camping Resort with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Almo (Richard) of Canonsburg; and her son, John F. Lucciola Jr. and his wife Teresa, all of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Melissa (Joseph) Graff, Jeanna Godwin (the late Michael Godwin), Lisa (Michael) Angelone, Krista Almo (Gary Marshman), Kayla Lucciola (Michael Mattis); four great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Daelin and Dominic Godwin and Mackenzie Graff.

Also surviving are a sister, Marlene “Taida” (Sam) Danilo of Bridgeville; a brother, Joe (JoAnn) Gudac of Canonsburg, a brother, Steve (and the late Emma) Gudac of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Terry Quinn of Bridgeville.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, February 4. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.
