Barbara A. Oiler
Barbara A. Oiler, 71, of Avella, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, in her home, surrounded by family.
She was born July 28, 1947, in Butler, daughter of the late Floyd Richard and Hazel Mae Baker Hinds.
Mrs. Oiler was a 1966 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and attended Slippery Rock University.
She was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist church in Prospect, where she was very active and taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Oiler worked as a seamstress for Bobby Brooks and worked as a certified nursing aide for 15 years at Country Meadows in Bridgeville.
Barbara was a very talented seamstress; she had made wedding dresses and clothing for her family over the years. She enjoyed doing puzzles, spending time with her children, grandchildren and cats and always kept a clean house.
She has lived in Avella for the past 41 years.
On March 21, 1971, she married Frank E. Oiler, who passed away May 2, 2008.
Surviving Mrs. Oiler are three daughters, Cindy (Rod) Pattison of Wellsburg, W.Va; Brandie (Anthony) Chapman of Avella and Tina (Edward) Powers of Avella; two sons, Keith (Kim) Oiler of Avella and Scott Oiler of Avella; eight grandchildren, Rod (Megan) Pattison Jr. and Chance Pattison, Shayne and Tyler Chapman, Taylor and Ethan Powers, Austin and Hunter Oiler; two great- grandchildren, Jude and Charlie; brother Jody (Bonnie) Hinds of Marysville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, Richard and Samuel Hinds.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 7, in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312. Funeral services and burial are private.
