J.J. Schilinski Jr.

J.J. (John Joseph) Schilinski Jr., 43, of Slovan, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in Edison, N.J.

He was born January 18, 1975, in Washington, the son of Big John Joseph Schilinski Sr. and Mara Lynn Drazick Schilinski, both of Slovan.

JJ was a 1993 graduate of Burgettstown High School who was residing in Edison, NJ working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Envirocon.

JJ (aka “DBL-J All Day Every Day”) had a passion for cooking while also entertaining large crowds. He combined the love for these two hobbies for family and friends while cooking on a spit for all to enjoy. He provided many laughs by showing off his animated dance moves while singing karaoke and for his infamous saying “GET IT!” As an avid fisherman, you could always find him beside a pond with a fishing pole in his hand. He was known for his quick wit, loud laugh and infectious smile always making him the life of the party.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his five siblings, Elizabeth (Donald) Spotti of Canonsburg, Lucas Schilinski of Slovan, Rachel (Eric) Kovach of Clinton, Sally (Cody) Mullins of Hookstown, Zachary (Shannon) Schilinski of Burgettstown; his maternal grandmother, “Bubba” Mildred Drazick of Slovan; two nephews, Eric Kovach Jr. and Colt Mullins; one niece, Lydia Schilinski; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Young Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021, 724-947-2049, www.youngfhinc.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10.
