Allene Mae Jeffries Kesner

Allene Mae Jeffries Kesner, 84, of Waynesburg, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

She was born Wednesday, December 5, 1934, in Greene County, a daughter of the late Elmer Jeffries and Olive Morris Jeffries. Mrs. Kesner spent her entire life in Greene County.

Mrs. Kesner was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and traveling. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Curry Home in Waynesburg and also helped care for the elderly. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, James J. Kesner, whom she married June 22, 1954, died May 13, 1994.

Surviving are three daughters, Theresa (Terry) Hevner, Melonie (Matthew) Gump and Brenda (Steven) Dulaney, all of Waynesburg; four sons, Mark J. (Dee) Kesner, John A. Kesner and Brian K. Kesner, with whom she made her home, all of Waynesburg, and Terry E. Kesner and girlfriend Asha McCormick of Mount Morris; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (John) McChesney of Waynesburg; a brother, Paul E. Jeffries of Hixon, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sons, Ronald Lee Kesner and Gary R. Kesner, and a brother, David E. “Poonjab” Jeffries.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, with the Rev. Dayton D. Mix officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
