Patricia Mihalich
Patricia “Patty” Mihalich, 75, of McDonald, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
She was born January 22, 1943 in Canonsburg Hospital, the daughter of the late Hubert and Margaret (Cairns) Capitani.
Mrs. Mihalich was in the first graduating class of Fort Cherry High School in 1960.
She was employed with Union National Bank from 1960 to 1973 and with Fort Cherry School District from 1982 to 1987. She was employed as the first human resources secretary with the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott from 1987 to 1993. From 1993 until her retirement in June 2004, she served as district justice clerk for Elaine McGraw of Allegheny County. She was a weekend hostess for Bob Evans Restaurant in Robinson Township for five years – finally retiring at age 71.
On June 2, 1965, she married Richard Mihalich, the love of her life, who died March 4, 2005. Together, they had two wonderful daughters, Leigh Ann Mihalich of Carnegie and Lisa Renee (Michael) Durbin of Charlotte, N.C.
Also surviving are two sisters, Joann (Steve) Trusnovic of Oakdale and Karen (Robert) Stewart of McDonald.
Her brother, Daniel Capitani, was killed in Vietnam in December 1969.
Mrs. Mihalich will be sorely missed by her friends and family, including all of her many cousins.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 14, with the Rev. Dennis Lawrence, pastor of Independent Bible Church, where Mrs. Mihalich was a former member for over 30 years.
Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald, alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Fort Cherry Ambulance Service or to one of the local fire departments (McDonald, Midway, Mt.
