Nancy D. Bracall Sherry
Nancy D. Bracall Sherry, 89, of McDonald, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born February 13, 1929, in McDonald, the daughter of Harry and Margaret Brandon Derbyshire.
She was a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University. She was a former teacher in the McDonald and Fort Cherry Schools and was the owner of McDonald News.
Nancy was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, The Trowel & Error Garden Club, and many neighborhood bridge clubs. She enjoyed traveling to tropical locations in South America and the Caribbean. She also loved reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching birds. She was an avid football fan, and never missed watching the Steelers. She also loved sweets and had dessert with every meal. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and was blessed to live near them and watch them grow up.
Surviving are her children, Lisa (Joe Loddo) Bracall, Andrea (Ted) Swoger and John (Holly) Bracall; step children, Kim (Mike) Klinger and Wendy Sherry; grandchildren, Kayla, Matthew and Lindsay Bracall, Kacy, Kory and Travis Klinger.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Ben” Bracall, and her second husband, Ira Sherry.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial mass on Monday, January 21, at noon in the St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 219 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church or Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
