Richard L. Hallam
Richard L. Hallam, 65, of Washington, died Friday, January 18, 2019, in his home, surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 4, 1953, in Washington, a son of the late John and Martha McConnell Hallam.
Mr. Hallam was a 1971 graduate of Trinity High School.
He retired from Joy Mining Machinery.
In his free time, he enjoyed camping and watching football. He served as commissioner for his fantasy football league for over 20 years. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Hallam served in the U.S. Army.
On May 21, 1984, in Lampasas, Texas, he married the love of his life, Paula J. Moore, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are son Shaun Richard (Jamie) Hallam of Monessen; two daughters, Heather (Keith) Pattison of Washington, and Heather (Jeff) Ausher of Washington; brother John (Mu Sun) Hallam of Pheonix, Ariz.; two sisters, Linda (Gary) Dicks of Washington, and Cathy Mikus of Washington; five grandchildren, Amber (Colton Maleski) Gallo, Samantha (Greg Hubley) Jenkins, Cody Jenkins, A.J. Pattison and Connor Hallam; great-granddaughter Raelynn Hubley; special niece and nephew, Shelly (Harry) Sargent and Erik (Natalie) McMillen; several other nieces and nephews; and his dog, Lexie.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Monday, January 21, 2019, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Robert Fetty officiating. All other services are private. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Washington Area Humane Society, www.washingtonpashelter.org.
