Catherine Beatty Brown
Catherine “Kay” Beatty Brown, 97, of Dilliner, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, in her home, with her loving family at her side.
She was born August 13, 1921, in Dunbar, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ellen Smitley Beatty.
A member of Mt. Morris Assembly of God Church, she had formerly worked as a licensed practical nurse at WVU Hospitals in Morgantown, W.Va.
Her husband, Roy S. Brown, passed away July 1, 2003. Also deceased are brothers Gene “Jiggs,” James “Bud,” and Edward Beatty; sisters Valetta Brown, Betty Lynn, Dorothy Byrne and Leona David; and her son-in-law, Bud Unmuth, who died April 23, 2018.
Surviving are her beloved daughter, Deloris “Dee” Unmuth, with whom she made her home; three grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn and John Hall of Dilliner, Tim and Emily Bubnick and Tom and Maren Bubnick, all of West Chester, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Jason Hall and wife Elizabeth and Jourdan Hall; a great-great-grandson, John Nicholas Hall; and two brothers, Robert Beatty and Joseph Beatty, both of West Virginia.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was faithfully devoted to her family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, January 29, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, with the Rev. John Jackson and the Rev. Fred Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.
