Ann Pozonsky
Ann Pozonsky, 88, of Muse, passed away peacefully Monday, January 28, 2019 in Canonsburg Hospital with her devoted children by her side.
She was born November 9, 1930 in Muse, a daughter of the late Antonio and Faustina DiBattista.
Ann lived her entire life in Muse where she had been a faithful member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers and Guild. She had been a member of the Italian Independent Women of Muse where she worked diligently breading fish and the spaghetti dinners, and the Muse Senior Citizens.
Ann was Salutatorian of her class of 1948 at Cecil High School and had been a secretary for Rose Bastio Insurance, now the Simonin Agency. Prior to her retirement, Ann had worked for many years at the Salandra Funeral Home after the RCA in Meadow Lands and Sarris Candies.
On December 21, 1950 she married Peter P. Pozonsky who passed away March 22, 2018 after 67 years of marriage.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Paul M. Pozonsky (Karen Herdman) of Muse;daughters, Rosemary Benjamin and her husband Mike of Lafayette, Ind., and Patricia Ann Fiscus and her husband Scott of Champagne, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Janelle (Michael) Kaiser, Kira (Matthew) Schwartz, Zachery (Chantalle) Fiscus, Adrienne (Michael) Redding, Landon Scott, Lauren Fiscus and Alexis Pozonsky; six great-grandchildren, Lilah, Collette and Meadow Fiscus and Paxton, Adalyn and Roman Redding; a brother, Carl DiBattista of Ft. Edward, N.Y.; sisters, Rose Johnson of Liverpool, N.Y. and Clara Korintus of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a brother, Pasquale DiBattista; and two sisters, Domenica Tredinnick and Mary B. Selva, who passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 1, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, Darla Tripoli LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, February 2.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon in Holy Rosary Church, Muse with the Rev. George T. DeVille as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. The rosary will be recited by the Christian Mothers at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Pozonsky’s name to the Christian Mothers of Holy Rosary Church P.O. Box 447, Muse PA 15350.
