William C. Sargent

William C. “Bill” Sargent, 58, of Richeyville, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born March 6, 1961, in Brownsville, a son of the late Herschel H. Sargent and Marcella Johns Sargent of Richeyville, who survives.

Mr. Sargent was a 1979 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1994.

A bartender by trade, he formerly worked for King of the Hill and Century Inn restaurants and numerous area social clubs.

His faithful dog Abbey was his constant companion. He also enjoyed swimming.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sisters, Janet Lee Snyder (Steve) of Washington and Marcella Banks (William) of Richeyville; three brothers, Quintin Lee Sargent (Maxine) of Bentleyville, James D. Sargent of Richeyville and Harry J. Sargent (Shelly) of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his father, are two brothers, John P. Sargent and Herschel A. Sargent, and a nephew, Joseph Minucci, who was killed in action in Iraq.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 28, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Greenlee Funeral Home, P.O. Box 11, Beallsville, PA 15313, to help defray funeral expenses.
