Mary A. Senkinc Urbancic
Mary A. Senkinc Urbancic, 98, of Canonsburg, passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, June 22, 2019.
She was born December 1, 1920, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Shimshick Senkinc.
Ms. Urbancic was a member of St. Patrick Church, the K.S.K.J. and the Slovenian Women. She enjoyed polka music and dancing.
On September 16, 1939, she married the love of her life, John J. Urbancic, with whom she spent 68 years of marriage, who passed away October 20, 2007. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and, in her younger years, worked as a cashier at the former Guzell’s Hardware store in Canonsburg.
Surviving are her daughters, Marie Smith and Carol (Robert) Altman, both of North Strabane, and Joan (Walter) Braunlin of Spring, Texas; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Senkinc.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday, June 25, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the K.S.K.J. Scholarship fund, in Mary Urbancic’s name.
