Robert Marshall Uphold Jr.
Robert M. “Bobby” Uphold Jr., 53, of Nemacolin, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019, in his home, following a long illness.
Mr. Uphold was born June 21, 1965, in Morgantown, W.Va., a son of the late Robert M. Uphold Sr. and Edna Mae Katolsky Latusek Uphold.
Bobby was a Pennsylvania state certified auto inspection mechanic. His final workplace was Washington Honda, before becoming ill.
In his youth, Bobby worked as a baker’s helper at the West Virginia University (WVU) student union and as a wheel chair escort at WVU Hospital. He later worked for Mon River Towing and Jordan Auto Parts Co.
Mr. Uphold had owned 88 Car Care in Carmichaels.
He enjoyed racing cycles in motocross competitions.
Bobby is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Joanne Hewitt Uphold; daughter Jessica Mae Uphold; sister Tina Latusek Helfferich (Mark) of Latrobe; brother Eugene Latusek (Debbie) of Greensboro; mother-in-law Patricia Hewitt; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Susan Lewis (Tim), Angela Baker (Derek), Paul Hewitt (Judy), Glenda Latusek, Charlotte Tenney and Lorn Murray; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are brothers Frank and John (Kirby) Latusek; sister Kathleen L. Murray; and sister-in-law Teresa Hewitt.
Amedysis Hospice provided excellent care to Bobby.
Friends will be received in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, McClellandtown, Tuesday, March 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastors Derek Baker Sr. and Tim Tanner officiating.
