Mary J. Bayto, 91, a longtime resident of Muse, died Saturday, August 8, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19.

She was born August 28, 1928, in Swoyerville, a daughter of A. John and Iva Yukich Bayto.

Mary lived for 87 years on Maple Street in Muse, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She graduated from Cecil High School in 1946, and worked at Rosner’s Dress Shop in Canonsburg. She was a longtime member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge 567, and a member of the St. George Adult Tamburitzans. Mary loved traveling to all the festivals baking nut rolls, and made the best pizzelles.

Surviving are her brothers, Joseph A. (Nancy) Bayto of Bethel Park, A. John (Pat) Bayto Jr. of Pahrump, Nev.; sister Dorothy Wallace of Pahrump, Nev.; and nieces, nephews and cousins in Croatia and Australia.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sister Helen Buchan; and her brothers-in-law, Anthony Buchan and Bruce Wallace.

Arrangements entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.

Due to the uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation and services are private.

Burial will take place in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
