Florence Malie

Florence “Flo” Malie, 93, peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Sebring, Fla. She was a longtime hairdresser, trained at the Clairol institute in New York City and was the owner of Malie’s Beauty Salon on Allison Avenue in Washington for more than 40 years.

She loved hosting card parties at her house and was a member of the Alpine Club. She loved bowling, sponsored her own team and played in many tournaments. She also enjoyed going to bingo all over the Tri-State area with her friends.

In 2003, she moved to Sebring, where she was the hostess at the Rose Tea Room for many years.

Flo Filoso married Albert Malie (deceased 1990) in 1947 and is survived by her four children, Kathryn of Sebring, Albert of Washington, Linda of Sebring and Marcia (John Harbinson) of Hollywood, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Dalton, Dylan and Taylor.

She was known for her red hair, quick wit and generosity. Flo was loved and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
