Ruth Ann Pethtel Myers
Ruth Ann Pethtel Myers, 86, of West Alexander, died Saturday, December 12, 2020.
She was born August 23, 1934, in Ohio County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Russ and Bert Irey Pethtel and had resided in West Alexander all her life.
Mrs. Myers was an active member and officer of the West Alexander United Methodist Church.
She was also an active member and officer of the West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary Post 656 for 58 years and had served as president 25 times; the West Alexander Golden Agers; and had served as the treasurer of the Washington, Fayette and Greene County Council of Pennsylvania for the past several years.
Mrs. Myers had a passion for traveling and collecting bells of every place she visited.
She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, and playing cards.
Mrs. Myers was loved by all who knew her; so much fun, unique laughter, beautiful smile and always took time to listen and help others. She was known for her kind and compassionate heart and spirit.
She was employed by the Penn and W.Va. Supply of Triadelphia (W.Va.) and DDI of Canonsburg. She was also employed as a funeral assistant by the former Rush Funeral Home, Inc. of Rogersville for several years
On December 12, 1986, she married Ralph Myers, who died October 22, 2003.
Surviving are her beloved companion, Robert Rodgers of West Alexander; two brothers, William. (Nellene) Pethtel of New Haven, W.Va. and Robert (Ruth Ann) Pethtel of The Villages, Florida; a sister, Mary Alice Amos of West Alexander; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, and she loved them all.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and her husband, are two sisters, Jean Skipwith and Clara May Miller; two nieces, Patty (Leech) Redding and Victoria (Pethtel) Larck; and a nephew, Leroy Miller.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the West Alexander United Methodist Church, 58 N. Liberty Street, West Alexander, PA 15376 or the West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary, P.O. Box 32, West Alexander, PA 15376.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the West Alexander United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., Rogersville.
