Richard Robey

Richard “Dick” Robey, 85, of Graysville, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, in Rolling Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 25, 1935, in Harrison County, W.Va., he was a son of the late James Clark and Gertrude Kathleen Ash Robey.

Dick was a resident of Greene County since 1963, when he moved from Harrison County. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, East View. Dick was a former coal miner with Valley Camp Co. in Valley Grove, W.Va., then retired with Beth Energy in 1990 after 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors, bluegrass music, and traveling with his wife with their camper.

On July 25, 1970, he married Leah Jane Coffield and they were happily married for 47 years until her passing November 15, 2017.

He is survived by two children, Denei (Daniel) Ash of Folsom, W.Va., Robin Riberia of Wallace, W.Va.; four stepchildren, Terry (Debbie) Cooper of Graysville, Cindi (Ronnie) Eddy of Iuka, W.Va., Patty (Donald) Reynolds of Cameron, W.Va., and Marie “Cricket” (Owen) Coffman of Graysville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis “Jean” (Glenn) Kiger of Mansfield, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Steven Robey; and one brother, Billy Robey.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 18, in First Assembly of God, 4131 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Waynesburg, PA 15370. The funeral service will be private. Masks and social distancing will be required to attend.
