Karen Christensen Broberg
Karen Christensen Broberg, 71, passed peacefully, in her sleep, Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in the presence of her loving husband and children after living with myelodysplasic syndrome for the past 18 months.
She was born December 4, 1949, in Washington, and attended Canon-McMillan High School and Muskingum University. She was employed by People’s Natural Gas for 10 years prior to retiring to raise her family.
For the past 46 years, Karen has been the loving wife of Albert Broberg. She is the beloved mother of Courtney Kojundic (Aaron) and Garrett Broberg (Meredith Goodge); and Nanna to Lars Broberg, Oliver Broberg, Elizabeth Broberg, Thor Kojundic and Ingrid Kojundic. She is the daughter of Grace and Lawrence Christensen; and sister of Sigrid Novak (Darryl), Roy Christensen (Cherie), Ralph Christensen and Norman Christensen (Kris).
Karen will be remembered by her striking silver hair and sparkling blue eyes; moreover, for her generosity, wit, and warmth. She made all those around her feel welcomed and comfortable. As an excellent cook and hostess, many have memories of her dinner parties filled with laughter and excellent conversation.
Due to constraints of the pandemic, her life will be celebrated with a memorial service in the spring or summer.
In remembrance of Karen’s life, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
