David Joseph Holmes
David Joseph “Joe” Holmes, 56, of Washington, lost his battle with addiction Friday, December 18, 2020, in his home.
Joe is survived by his son, Adam (Beth) Holmes of Washington; his daughter, Sara Hadlock of Washington; his grandchildren, Caden, Abigail and Sidney Holmes, William Beverlin, Ian Hadlock and Izabella Hatfield; sisters Mary Ruth (Gary) Huffman, Lucretia “Cre” (Thomas) Davis and Jeani McMasters; a brother, Robert Holmes; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn McMasters; his father, Robert McMasters; and his nieces, Deshawna Lynn Hairston and Ashley Huffman.
Joe was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He was a very kind-hearted man with a good soul. His family will remember the man he was, and the good times that were had. Joe was loved very much, and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
