Lloyd Kennedy

Lloyd “Bud” Kennedy, 69, of Avella, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, in his home, surrounded by his daughter, niece and great-nieces.

He was born April 17, 1951, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles F. and Georgia R. Robison Kennedy.

Bud was a graduate of Avella High School and worked in the Foundry at Miller’s Centrifugal Casting for more than 20 years.

He had lived most of his life in Avella and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He loved to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

Surviving are a daughter, Marie (Brian) Smitsky of Cross Creek Township; two grandchildren, Blake and Kailyn Smitsky; three sisters, Lucille Jones of Beaver, Geraldine (Royce) Kotouch of Eldersville and Faye (Vincent) Starinsky of Avella; two brothers, Charles (Linda) Kennedy of Eldersville and John (Lavada) Kennedy of Avella; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

All funeral arrangements are private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sugar Run Stables LLC, 1016 Sugar Run Road, Avella, PA 15312 (Memories in the Makin’ Therapeutic Riding Facility, a nonprofit organization, for people with special needs, the disabled and veterans). Lloyd had devoted a lot of time helping his great-niece fulfill her dream of opening this facility.
